Directions
Sayulita is about a 45-minute drive from the international Puerto Vallarta Airport (PVR).
There are a number of travel options to get from the airport to Casa Dichosa: |
Taxi
I recommend that you arrange for a taxi in advance of your arrival. Sayulita has a few local companies that will meet your flight at arrivals with your name on a sign. The vehicles are air-conditioned SUVs and the drivers are happy to stop at the “Mega” (local big box store) en route so you can pick up groceries, beer and wine and arrive fully stocked!! I have had great experiences with: Margarito Gomez Taxi Service phone 322 1018 306 email [email protected] Jose Ramos Taxi Service phone 329 291 2002 email [email protected] There are also taxis in line outside the arrivals terminal. Bus You can also take a white and green Compostela line bus. It will say SAYULITA (as well as other place names) on the windshield. The cost is about 35 pesos/person. It’s best to have nothing larger than 200 pesos to pay, as change is not always easy for the driver. The trip by bus takes about 50-60 minutes, followed by a 10-12 minute walk to the house. Get off the bus at the last stop in Sayulita:

Rental Car
There are are several car rental companies in Sayulita, including National and Gecko Rent-a-Car. You can rent at the airport, but I would recommend booking in advance for the best rates. Please note that the house is a 5 – 10 minute walk to all the shops, grocery and liquor stores, as well as restaurants and the beach (!) but if you want to explore some of the surrounding area – golf in San Pancho, the Thursday market at La Penita, Puerta Vallarta or drive the coast – then a car is a great idea. There is off-street parking at the house. Driving Directions Upon exiting the airport, take Highway (Carretera) 200 going north. It will be about a 45 minute drive. As you approach the Sayulita left-hand turn-off, the highway will widen to four lanes with a sign for the turn-off by the PEMEX Gas Station. After turning, follow the road straight for several hundred metres until you reach the first turn-off to the right, immediately before a little bridge. Take that right turnoff and continue straight into the village. At the end of the palm-lined boulevard, turn LEFT, cross the bridge, and continue straight for about 40 metres until you reach a fork in the road. Take the RIGHT fork (do NOT turn right onto the road along the river) and continue for a short distance until you will reach the plaza on your left. At the far end of the plaza, turn LEFT and after the plaza go up just the first part of a short, steep hill. Take the first LEFT onto Calle Gabriel Rodriguez (painted on the side of a little house) and follow that road along and around for about three hundred metres until you will reach number 68 – Casa Dichosa – with a driveway out front. It is the first house on the right just past Calle Mariposa. |
